Leitrim County Council wants your views on creativity in Leitrim

Creative Ireland meeting in Manorhamilton this evening (Tues 08) and Ballinamore tomorrow evening, Wednesday 09 Aug.

Leitrim County Council is currently in the process of developing its fourth Arts Strategy, and as part of the Creative Ireland programme, its first Culture and Creative Strategy. The arts plan will set out the strategy, policies and programmes for the development of the arts that Leitrim County Council will follow for the next number of years.

Given that the Arts Plan shapes the direction of the council’s arts policy for the next number of years, and that the Culture and Creative Strategy will act in concert with Arts, Library and Heritage strategies for the same period, it is important that sufficient time and effort is given over to reviewing what we do, consulting with stakeholders and the general public and providing the opportunity for people to comment on plans for the future.

To support this process, Leitrim County Council will host a consultation session in The Glens Centre this evening (Tuesday 8th August ) from 6.30pm to 8.00pm, and in Ballinamore Library at 6.30pm tomorrow evening Wednesday 9th August.

If you can’t make any of the meetings, we very much welcome written contributions by post or email to Leitrim County Council Áras an Chontae, Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim, or email to ckelly@leitrimcoco.ie.

The meeting is open to all, and we particularly welcome participation from those who work in the creative and culture & heritage sectors, members of community and voluntary groups and cultural organisations throughout the county.

For more information contact Leitrim County Council on 071 96 21694 or email ckelly@leitrimcoco.ie.

While prior booking isn’t essential, we would greatly appreciate if those interested could contact us in advance so that we can accurately accommodate the numbers attending.
